Hogwarts Legacy Sequel Plans Confirmed by Warner Bros. Discovery
Expected in a “Couple Years Down the Road”
Warner Bros. Discovery has confirmed its commitment to developing a sequel to the critically acclaimed action RPG, Hogwarts Legacy. The original game, released in 2023, has sold over 24 million copies worldwide. During the Bank of America’s 2024 Media, Communications & Entertainment Conference, Warner Bros. Discovery CFO Gunnar Wiedenfels emphasized the importance of the sequel, stating, "Obviously, a successor to Hogwarts Legacy is one of the biggest priorities in a couple of years down the road. So there is certainly a significant growth contribution from that [games] business in our strategic outlook here."
David Haddad, President of Warner Bros. Games, highlighted the game's replayability as a key factor in its success during an earlier interview with Variety. "Many players have gone back and played the game more than once," Haddad noted. He further emphasized the game's unique appeal, saying, "It brought Harry Potter to life in a new way for gamers where they could be themselves in this world, in this story." This immersive experience has resonated deeply with the gaming community, propelling Hogwarts Legacy to the top of the sales charts—a position usually dominated by sequels from established franchises.
Game8 praised Hogwarts Legacy for its stunning visuals, describing it as the most visually impressive Harry Potter experience available to fans. For a detailed review of Hogwarts Legacy, you can visit our review at the link below!
