Maximize your word count to achieve victory! Squares is a daily word puzzle game blending strategy and wordplay. The objective is to complete squares on a grid to create words.
Gameplay:
Connect letters in any direction—up, down, left, right, or diagonally—to form words. Your aim is to uncover all words hidden within the letter grid and amass the highest possible score.
Rules:
- Each letter in a word earns one point (a five-letter word scores five points).
- Words must contain at least four letters.
- Each tile can only be used once per word.
- Hyphenated words, proper nouns, offensive language, and uncommon terms are excluded.
Bonus Words:
Bonus words are less common, outdated, or slang terms. These words don't add to your score but appear in a separate bonus word list. Continue searching for these even after finding all main words (post-game). Each puzzle also features a "Word of the Day"—a special, often longer bonus word. Discovering it rewards you with two extra hints!

A new Squares puzzle is available each day at midnight.
Grid Rotation:
Need a fresh perspective? Rotate the grid left or right using the buttons in the bottom-right corner. A different viewpoint can often help you find more words.
Letter Usage Hints:
After finding 40% of the words, a hint is provided: a number appears on each letter, indicating how many words begin with that letter. The absence of a number means no words start with that letter. If a letter turns orange, it's no longer used in the main words but may still appear in bonus words.
Hints System:
Each puzzle offers 3 to 5 hints (lightbulb icons). Using a hint reveals the first letter of a random word and its search direction. The number of hints (3-5) varies based on puzzle difficulty. Sharing the game link with friends earns you an additional hint! Good luck and happy word hunting!
