Tarneeb is a card game for two teams, each consisting of two players sitting opposite each other. Using a standard 52-card deck, gameplay proceeds counter-clockwise. Each player estimates the number of "Allmat" (tricks) their team can win in each round. The player who wins the bid to declare "Tarneeb" throws a type of paper onto the floor; other players must throw the same type of paper to win. "Tarneeb" papers are the most powerful; the player who throws the strongest "Tarneeb" paper wins. The round ends when all players have played.
Points are awarded based on whether a team meets their bid. If a team achieves or exceeds their bid, they gain the number of "Allmat" points they won. If they fail, their points are deducted, and the opposing team gains the "Allmat" points they won. If both teams reach 13 tricks without bidding for 13, 16 points are added to their total score. If a team bids for and achieves 13 tricks, they gain 26 points. Failing to achieve a bid of 13 results in a 16-point deduction. The game concludes when a team reaches a total score of 41 or more, declaring that team the winner.
