Tien Len Mien Nam (TLMN), also known as Thirteen Cards, is a captivating four-player card strategy game. This free game offers a thrilling experience, challenging players to strategically deplete their 13-card hand before their opponents.
Gameplay Overview:
Each player receives 13 cards. The player holding the 3 of Spades initiates the first round. Subsequent rounds begin with the previous round's winner playing any valid card combination. Players must play a higher-ranking card set or pass. Passing forces subsequent passes until a player plays a higher set. A round concludes when three players pass. The last player to play initiates the next round. The game ends when a player exhausts their hand.
Card Sets and Ranking:
Valid card sets include:
- Single: One card.
- Pair: Two cards of the same rank.
- Triple: Three cards of the same rank.
- Quadruple: Four cards of the same rank (special).
- Series: Three or more consecutive cards.
- Double Series: Six or more consecutive pairs (special).
Card ranking follows the standard 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, J, Q, K, A, 2 sequence. Suits rank Spade, Club, Diamond, Heart. Sets are compared based on their highest-ranking card.
Special Cutting Rules:
The 2 (deuce or "Pig") is the highest card. Specific sets can beat deuce combinations:
- A double series of six cards beats a single deuce.
- A quadruple beats a double series of six, a single deuce, or a pair of deuces.
- A double series of eight cards beats a quadruple, a double series of six, a single deuce, or a pair of deuces.
Auto-Win Hands:
Certain hands automatically win the game, preventing further play:
- Six pairs.
- Four deuces.
