A potential PlayStation Plus game for May 2025 appears to have leaked.
Sony has not confirmed anything yet, but speculation suggests the teen slasher horror adventure Until Dawn will be a free download for PlayStation players in May. While the key art strongly indicates it's the Until Dawn Remastered version and not the 2014 original, we'll provide confirmation as soon as we have reliable information.
PlayStation Plus is an online gaming service for PlayStation platforms, offering free monthly games, limited-time trials, online multiplayer, and discounts exclusive to members. It also includes a library of hundreds of current and classic titles for Extra and Premium subscribers. The monthly free games are available to all members, regardless of their subscription plan.

Some members of the PlayStation subreddit (via PushSquare) speculate this could be a promotional effort for the new Until Dawn movie, which premiered right before the weekend. The film did not receive a strong reception; we gave it a 5/10 score in IGN's Until Dawn movie review, stating: "Until Dawn is more disappointing than deadly, abandoning the horror game's potential for a mishmash of horror film recreations."
We awarded the same score to the 2024 remaster, describing it in IGN's Until Dawn Remastered review as "an overpriced, underwhelming remake that feels less like essential moonlit horror and more like daylight robbery." Supermassive's original 2015 game received a much better score of 7.5/10 from us.
22 games are scheduled to leave the PlayStation Plus library next month, including Grand Theft Auto 5, Payday 2: Crimewave Edition, and the final playable console versions of first-party titles Resistance: Fall of Man and Resistance 2. As a result, Resistance: Fall of Man and Resistance 2 will no longer be accessible on modern consoles.
