"Now You See Me 3 Renamed; Sequel Confirmed"

Big news for fans of the Now You See Me franchise: not only is the third installment officially titled Now You See Me: Now You Don’t, but a fourth film is also in development. This exciting announcement was made by Adam Fogelson, chair of the Lionsgate Motion Picture Group, during CinemaCon. He confirmed that Now You See Me 3, now titled Now You See Me: Now You Don’t, is still set to hit theaters on November 14, 2025.

Director Ruben Fleischer, who is steering the third film, has also signed on to develop and direct the fourth installment of this successful action-heist series. The franchise has already amassed an impressive $700 million at the global box office.

PlayThe original films featured stars like Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Isla Fisher, Dave Franco, and Morgan Freeman. Now You See Me: Now You Don’t introduces a new generation of illusionists, including Justice Smith, Dominic Sessa, and Ariana Greenblatt, along with Rosamund Pike.

Fleischer, who previously worked with Eisenberg and Harrelson in his debut film Zombieland, brings his expertise from recent hits like Uncharted and Venom, which grossed over $400 million and $850 million worldwide, respectively.

Bobby Cohen, the original developer and producer of the series, will continue his role, joined by Alex Kurtzman of Secret Hideout. Meredith Wieck will oversee the project for Lionsgate.

Adam Fogelson praised Fleischer's work, saying, “Ruben has delivered all of the twists and turns and sleight-of-hand that audiences expect from this franchise while upping the stakes and scale in every way. We can’t wait for audiences to discover what he’s done with the third film and are thrilled he’ll be making even more magic with us.”

Fleischer shared his enthusiasm, stating, “Directing Now You See Me: Now You Don’t was as much fun as making any movie in my career. It combines two of my favorite things — heist movies and magic — and working with this incredible cast was truly magical. Of course, I want to keep it going.”

IGN’s reviews of the previous films were mixed. The first film, Now You See Me, received a 6.3/10, with the critique stating, “Now You See Me seemed so promising, but it squanders its cool cast and nifty premise on smarmy, shallow characters and a flimsy, nonsensical plot.” The sequel, Now You See Me 2, scored a 6.2, with the review noting, "Now You See Me 2 isn't the worst magic act in town, but it's all flash and no substance."
