AMD recently showcased AFMF 2, highlighting its enhanced capabilities. The technology features various modes optimized for different resolutions, ensuring compatibility with a wider range of gaming setups. AFMF 2 incorporates numerous optimizations and adjustable settings to maximize frame rates and enhance visual smoothness.

According to AMD's internal testing, AFMF 2 leverages advanced AI algorithms to improve image quality while simultaneously minimizing latency and boosting performance. A gamer poll conducted by AMD reported an average 9.3/10 rating for image quality and smoothness.

AMD emphasized the substantial improvements over AFMF 1, releasing AFMF 2 as a technical preview to gather user feedback for further refinement.

The most significant improvement in AFMF 2 is the substantial latency reduction. AMD's benchmarks show up to a 28% average latency decrease compared to its predecessor. In Cyberpunk 2077 at 4K Ultra Ray Tracing, the latency reduction was particularly noticeable. AMD specifically highlighted this improvement, encouraging players to experience the smoother gameplay firsthand.

AFMF 2 also boasts expanded compatibility and functionality. It now supports borderless fullscreen modes for AMD Radeon RX 7000 and Radeon 700M series graphics cards. Furthermore, compatibility with Vulkan and OpenGL APIs is included, enhancing animation fluidity. Finally, interoperability with AMD Radeon Chill is enabled, allowing users to set custom FPS limits.
