Roblox developer Kitawari has released the highly anticipated Anime Vanguards Winter Update 3.0, bringing a host of exciting changes and enhancements to the beloved tower-defense game. This update is designed to keep the winter festivities alive, offering players a wealth of new content to dive into and enjoy for weeks to come.
Upon logging in, players will immediately notice the revamped lobby, which has been redesigned to provide more space and a better experience for anime fans. The new lobby is not only larger but also features a customizable Day and Night cycle, accessible through the settings menu. Alongside the lobby, the user interface (UI) has been updated, with a "much better and cleaner" stage selection UI, as described by the development team.
"We heard your issues with our current lobby; it was too small and cramped, and we were running out of places to put new game modes," Kitawari stated in the Winter Update 3.0 patch notes. "Get ready for our stunning new lobby – 10x more impressive than anything you’ve seen, featuring a customizable Day and Night cycle which you can check out in Settings!"
A standout feature of the Winter Update 3.0 is the introduction of the new Portals game mode. Kitawari encourages players to utilize winter units and skins to boost team damage and unlock additional rewards. Additionally, the Sandbox Mode offers a playground for players to experiment with new strategies without any limitations. The update also introduces 12 new units, available through various channels such as the new Winter Banner, Portals game mode, battle pass, and leaderboard rewards.
Quality-of-life improvements are also a significant part of this update. Players will benefit from smoother unit placement, Evolution Quests now appearing in a special tab, and the addition of search bars in the skins and familiars windows. Units now clearly highlight the enemies they are targeting, enhancing the overall gameplay experience.
Anime Vanguards has been consistently updated since its launch last January, with the recent November update drawing inspiration from the popular anime series, Dandadan. Tournament players can now earn unique titles for each week's tournament. The top player gains the Tournament Champion title, while those in positions 2-5 receive the Tournament Contender title.

Collect units from each rarity to unlock special rewards. The more units you gather, the greater the rewards you can claim.
NEW! Enemy Index Milestones
Earn rewards by filling out your Enemy Index. Documenting sets of enemies grants you special prizes, such as Trait Rerolls.
NEW! Trophy Exchange Shop
A dedicated area for trophies and a trophy shop have been added, where you can purchase Emotes using trophies.
NEW! Spectate Mode Options
When spectating a unit, choose between Default, First Person, Third Person, and Top-Down views. The spectate interface now indicates which unit you are watching.
NEW! Health Stocks
The currency base health system has been replaced with base stocks. Each stage starts with 3 stocks, and one enemy reaching the base deducts one stock. Losing all stocks results in a match loss. Bosses instantly deplete all stocks upon reaching the base.
NEW! The Hidden Gateway awakens…
The mysterious portal item, a reward from Floor 50 in Worldlines, now reveals its purpose. Use it to open a gateway to a hidden challenge and uncover the Secret within.

View the latest updates in-game upon joining or by clicking the update button in the top right corner of your screen.

Filter your units by their damage stat tier, SPA stat tier, and range stat tier for easier management.
