Krysten Ritter Returns as Jessica Jones in Daredevil: Born Again

Author : Leo Nov 15,2025

Krysten Ritter is officially confirmed to reprise her role as Jessica Jones in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2.

As reported by Variety, Ritter's return as Marvel's street-smart private investigator was announced during today's Disney Upfront presentation in New York. This confirmation ends months of speculation that the Disney+ series would reunite several Netflix Defenders, fueling fan hopes for their official integration into the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

Ritter joined her Daredevil and The Defenders co-star Charlie Cox on stage to share her enthusiasm about bringing Jessica Jones back to the screen.

“It feels incredible to return to Jessica after three seasons of her own show, The Defenders, and now stepping into the MCU,” Ritter stated. “I'm thrilled to revive this iconic character. Without spoiling anything, Jessica Jones has a lot more story ahead. This season is going to be amazing!”

Ritter first embodied the New York-based Marvel hero when Jessica Jones debuted on Netflix in 2015. The series ran for two additional seasons and a team-up event in The Defenders. However, as Netflix phased out its original Marvel content, the likelihood of Ritter returning to the role seemed to fade.

That changed in 2021 when Disney reacquired the rights to several characters, including Jessica Jones. After Cox made a brief appearance in Spider-Man: No Way Home and landed his own Disney+ series, Daredevil: Born Again, fans theorized the revival could reintroduce other Netflix heroes. With Punisher playing a major part in Season 1, Ritter's comeback in Season 2 feels like a natural progression.

Ritter's last appearance as the character was in Jessica Jones Season 3, released in 2019. Her comments at the upfront hint that Jessica Jones may have a larger future in the MCU, but for now, audiences can anticipate her role in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2. Disney has not set a release date, but showrunner Dario Scardapane indicated audiences can expect new episodes in March 2026.
