Black Ops 6 Zombies: Ice Staff Location Guide

Author : Zoey Mar 13,2025

The new Call of Duty Zombies map, The Tomb, introduces a returning Wonder Weapon: the Staff of Ice, originally from Black Ops II's Origins. This guide details how to obtain it.

Can You Get the Staff of Ice from the Mystery Box on The Tomb?

While the Staff of Ice, like its Black Ops II counterpart, requires three parts, you can get lucky and find it in The Tomb's Mystery Box. However, this relies entirely on chance, even with the "Wunderbar!" GobbleGum, as the Ray Gun is also a possibility. For a guaranteed acquisition, building it is the way to go.

How To Build the Staff of Ice on The Tomb in Black Ops 6 Zombies

Obtaining the Staff of Ice Monocle

The first part, the Monocle, is straightforward. It drops from the first Shock Mimic you eliminate in a match. Simply interact with it to add it to your inventory.

Obtaining the Staff of Ice Head Piece

The Head Piece and Staff pieces involve similar puzzles and lockdowns. These can be obtained in any order.

For the Head Piece, locate the cave painting in the Neolithic Catacombs. If the wall isn't illuminated, activate the Dark Aether lanterns (shooting one will move the purple fire to another; repeat until the lantern nearest the painting is lit). The illuminated wall displays Roman numerals (I-X); shoot them in ascending order. A correct sequence triggers a lockdown; survive it to obtain the Head Piece. If you miss a numeral, you can resume from the last correctly hit one. Use a standard bullet weapon to avoid accidentally skipping numbers with splash or explosive damage.

The Staff piece is acquired similarly. In the Tombs room, manipulate the lanterns until the one closest to the Bull Mural (head facing left) is lit. Shoot the illuminated Roman numerals (I-VIII) in ascending order. Survive the ensuing lockdown to claim the Staff piece.

Assembling the Staff of Ice

With all three parts, head to the Dark Aether Nexus (open the Door to Nowhere if necessary). Place the parts on the central structure. A wave of enemies will attack; defend the Staff until it's assembled. Using perks, upgraded weapons, and GobbleGums like Kill Joy and Free Fire is recommended.

Congratulations! You now possess the Staff of Ice.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is available now on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
