Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Developer Working on New Feature to Track Challenges

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Update: Challenge Tracking and More

Treyarch has confirmed development of an in-game challenge tracker for Black Ops 6, a feature absent at launch despite its inclusion in 2023's Modern Warfare 3. While a release date remains unannounced, its arrival is anticipated with the upcoming Season 2 update later this month.

The recent January 9th update included various improvements, primarily addressing Multiplayer and Zombies mode bugs. Multiplayer saw UI and audio fixes, along with an XP boost for the Red Light, Green Light mode. Significantly, Treyarch reversed a controversial Zombies change from the January 3rd update, restoring the original round timing and zombie spawn mechanics in Directed Mode following community feedback.

Challenge Tracking Feature Confirmed

Although not detailed in the patch notes, Treyarch directly addressed fan requests on Twitter, confirming the challenge tracking feature is "currently in the works." This highly requested feature, popular in Modern Warfare 3, is expected to provide real-time challenge progress tracking within the game's UI, mirroring Modern Warfare 3's functionality. This will significantly benefit players pursuing Mastery camos.

Additional Improvements on the Horizon

Treyarch also acknowledged another significant improvement in development: separate HUD settings for Multiplayer and Zombies modes. This will eliminate the need to constantly adjust HUD preferences when switching between game modes.

In short, Treyarch is actively addressing player feedback and enhancing the Black Ops 6 experience with substantial updates on the way. The addition of challenge tracking and separate HUD settings are highly anticipated improvements.
