Dragonfire Soft Expands to Southeast Asia

  • Game of Thrones: Dragonfire is now available in soft launch for select regions.
  • Journey back nearly two centuries to the era of the Targaryens.
  • Expect dragons, political intrigue, betrayal, and epic large-scale battles.

Following the widely criticized eighth season of Game of Thrones, the franchise appeared to be on the verge of collapse, at least in the realm of television. Surprisingly, the prequel spinoff House of the Dragon has successfully revived much of that former popularity, making the release of a new mobile adaptation, Game of Thrones: Dragonfire, a logical next step.

Set almost two hundred years before the events of the original series, Dragonfire transports players to the height of House Targaryen's power and their widespread use of dragons. As such, you can collect and nurture your own dragons to engage in combat against adversaries.

Beyond the obvious appeal of dragons, Dragonfire offers tactical, tile-based warfare as you expand your influence, forging and breaking alliances. The game also features a richly detailed map of Westeros, including famous locations like the Red Keep and Dragonstone.

House of the Dragon certainly revitalized interest in the Game of Thrones universe, and the high-fantasy Targaryen era provides an appealing setting for a strategy-focused multiplayer game. That said, Game of Thrones: Dragonfire will need to distinguish itself from a number of similar titles, as well as compete with the expansive, globe-trotting RPG Kingsroad.

Still, with a roster of beloved characters, a world ideally suited for strategic gameplay and multiplayer diplomacy, and numerous iconic locations to fight over, Dragonfire has all the ingredients for a compelling release.
