With early access just around the corner, Square Enix has unveiled preliminary patch notes for Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail's 7.0 update, offering a glimpse into the expansive changes awaiting players. The notes highlight the locations for new job quests (Viper and Pictomancer), along with numerous system adjustments within the MMO.

Dawntrail, the fifth expansion to the acclaimed MMORPG, marks the beginning of a new saga following Endwalker. It also introduces the game's first significant graphical overhaul since A Realm Reborn. The Warrior of Light's journey takes them to the western continent of Tural, embroiled in a succession rite to determine its next ruler. Players will ally with the young Hrothgar Wuk Lamat, one of the four candidates for Dawnservant. Square Enix has urged players to be mindful of story spoilers on social media.

While details on the main storyline remain scarce, the preliminary notes tease exciting additions. The Arcadion raid series and the Cenote Ja Ja Gural treasure dungeon are slated for future updates. A level 1 quest rewarding a free Fantasia potion will be available in 7.0, initiated by speaking with the Medicine Merchant in Ul'dah - Steps of Thal (X:13.4, Y:9.2). The notes also pinpoint the starting locations for job quests: a Worried Weaver in Ul'dah - Steps of Nald (X:9.3, Y:9.2) for Viper, and a Cheerless Hearer in Old Gridania (X:8.0, Y:10.3) for Pictomancer. Various Dawntrail role quests are also included, requiring progression in the main story.
