Fortnite Unveils Nostalgic Reload Mode

Fortnite's latest mode, "Reload," throws 40 players onto a smaller map packed with nostalgic locations from past updates, bringing a modern twist to classic Fortnite gameplay. This high-stakes mode emphasizes squad survival; a full squad wipe means immediate elimination. Whether you prefer Battle Royale or Zero Build, the goal remains the same: be the last squad standing.

What Makes Reload Mode Unique?

Reload mode features a compact island encompassing iconic locations like Tilted Towers and Retail Row, but without drivable vehicles. The mode compensates with a diverse selection of unvaulted weapons, including fan favorites like the Revolver, Tactical Shotgun, Lever Action Shotgun, Rocket Launcher, and Grappler.

Victory Crowns remain in effect, and upon reboot, players return with a common Assault Rifle (and building materials in Build mode). The Reboot Timer adds intensity, starting at 30 seconds and increasing to 40 seconds as the match progresses. Eliminating enemies reduces the timer, offering strategic opportunities. Players can choose to initiate their reboot instantly.

Elimination and Rewards

Eliminated players drop Small Shield Potions, assorted ammo, and building materials (in Build mode), fueling ongoing combat.

The mode also includes introductory quests offering substantial XP rewards. Completing three quests unlocks the Digital Dogfight Contrail, six quests earn the Pool Cubes Wrap, and nine quests reward players with the NaNa Bath Back Bling. A Victory Royale grants The Rezzbrella Glider.
