Leslie Benzies, the mastermind behind Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto 5 and Red Dead Redemption, unveils his upcoming project, MindsEye, with a fresh look at the PlayStation State of Play.
The newly released trailer showcases MindsEye as a cutting-edge spy thriller bearing a striking resemblance to Grand Theft Auto. Expect thrilling third-person gunfights, stunning cinematic sequences, and intense drive-by shootings. Witness the action in the cinematic trailer below.
Official press materials reveal that MindsEye follows Jacob Diaz, a protagonist equipped with a neural implant – the MindsEye – which has fragmented his memories, leaving him with disjointed flashbacks from his military past. His mission? To uncover the truth about his history, a journey that pits him against an AI-powered military force.
MindsEye has been in development for several years. Following his departure from Rockstar Games, Benzies established Build a Rocket Boy, collaborating with Hitman developer IO Interactive on this ambitious title. Advertised as a AAA action-adventure game, MindsEye will also integrate the Everywhere platform, previously described as a "high-budget Roblox" following a studio visit in 2024.
While the new trailer omits mention of Everywhere, MindsEye itself promises an exhilarating action experience from a leading figure in the gaming industry. The game is slated for release sometime in the summer of 2025.
