Warhorse Studios has released a major free update for Kingdom Come: Deliverance II: version 1.2. This patch brings two key additions: native mod integration via Steam Workshop and a completely new barber shop system.
The Steam Workshop integration streamlines downloading and installing mods directly within the game, removing the need for third-party tools. This feature, however, relies on mod creators uploading their content to Steam Workshop. Currently, only a handful of mods are available, such as:
Free Saving: Provides unlimited saves by automatically restocking the "Saviour Schnapps" item after each use or loss.Helmet of Henry VIII: Introduces a horned helmet inspired by historical armor.Tourist: Deactivates NPC reactions to trespassing, enabling access to otherwise restricted story areas.Pebbles the Zebra: Turns your horse into a zebra with a distinctive visual style.
While the initial selection is modest, the modding community is poised to grow quickly. With over a thousand mods already on Nexus Mods, many creators are expected to share their work across both platforms. Steam Workshop may not match Nexus Mods in sheer volume, but popular mods will undoubtedly make their way there soon.

Alongside mod support, players can now visit barbers in Rattay and Kuttenberg to alter their hairstyle or beard. No matter the style chosen, a barber visit provides a temporary boost to the main character's Charisma stat.
Update 1.2's scope extends well beyond these features, as detailed in the comprehensive changelog on the game’s official website. Warhorse Studios states that over a thousand fixes and enhancements have been implemented across nearly all game systems. These include balance tweaks, polished animations, and smarter NPC behavior. The crime system, for example, has been adjusted for better accuracy.
Other significant changes include:
Updated NPC daily schedules for more believable routines.Refined horse riding mechanics and the horse trading system.Improved character visuals and general performance, especially in Kuttenberg (the game's largest city) and during massive battles.
The studio will discuss these updates in greater detail during a developer livestream set for next Thursday. Warhorse Studios continues its commitment to the game's development, with three paid DLC expansions planned for release in the spring, summer, and winter.
With Steam Workshop integration, new cosmetic choices, and numerous gameplay refinements, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II is steadily improving, delivering an even more engaging medieval adventure.
