"MageTrain: Fast-Paced Pixel Roguelike Now on Android"

Tidepool Games has just released a thrilling new game on Android called MageTrain, which might remind you of Nimble Quest due to its similar gameplay mechanics. This game blends elements of Snake, auto-battlers, and roguelikes into a fast-paced, pixel art adventure.

What’s MageTrain Like?

In MageTrain, you lead a line of heroes that trail behind you, much like a snake. Each hero autonomously attacks as you navigate through an arena. Your key role is to strategize the positioning of your heroes, determining who leads and who follows, as their abilities vary based on their position in the line.

At launch, MageTrain offers nine heroes, including one that uniquely throws birds. Each hero brings different skills to the table, depending on their role within the group. You'll journey through eight distinct dungeons, battling against 28 types of enemies, and harnessing 30 different skills to enhance your team. Along the way, you'll collect gold and power-ups to bolster your chances of success.

Thanks to its roguelike nature, every playthrough in MageTrain is unique. You'll navigate branching paths, choose upgrades, and strive to survive as long as possible. The game's structure echoes that of Slay the Spire or FTL, with no fixed levels and no option to save your progress. A single mistake, whether it's colliding with an obstacle or being overrun by enemies, means starting over from scratch.

It Isn’t Slow-Paced

The excitement in MageTrain comes from the continuous improvement you experience with each run, even when you don't win. You'll learn when to play defensively, when to go all out on offense, and when to simply hold on for another 30 seconds.

MageTrain is now available for free on Android, so head over to the Google Play Store and give it a try. Before you go, don't forget to check out our next news piece on the new MLB Baseball Strategy Game, OOTP Baseball 26 Go!
