Indie studio We Are Muesli has exciting news for narrative game enthusiasts with the announcement of their upcoming game, In Their Shoes. Set to launch in 2026 on both mobile and PC platforms, the game has already made waves by securing a nomination for the 'A MAZE. 2025' awards in Berlin, dedicated to independent and arthouse games.
In Their Shoes Is a Narrative Game that’s More About Listening
Set in the bustling, contradictory city of modern-day Milan, In Their Shoes invites players to immerse themselves in the lives of seven distinct characters. The game unfolds through 49 short interactive stories, each referred to as a 'Moment,' offering a window into the daily experiences of these characters.
Each Moment captures the essence of life’s nuances, from the characters' hesitations and routines to their split-second decisions. Some moments unfold leisurely, allowing you to delve deep into a character's thoughts, while others demand quick reactions, mimicking the pace of real-life scenarios.
What sets In Their Shoes apart is its unconventional narrative structure. Unlike traditional narrative games, the stories in In Their Shoes are deliberately fragmented. As players navigate these scattered narratives, they can uncover 26 hidden biographical details about each character, creating a rich, slice-of-life experience.
While the Play Store page for In Their Shoes is not yet available, eager fans can visit the game's Steam page. For a sneak peek, check out the announcement trailer below.
