Speculation about the specs of Nintendo's long-awaited Nintendo Switch 2 has finally come to an end, and the results are more impressive than many expected. The Nintendo Switch 2 supports up to 120fps and 4K resolution when docked, showcasing a significant leap in performance over its predecessor.
During today's Nintendo Switch 2 Direct, Nintendo unveiled several exciting features of the system. The Nintendo Switch 2 boasts a larger 7.9-inch screen compared to the original Switch, yet maintains the same thickness of 13.9mm. With double the pixels, the handheld mode supports a crisp 1080p resolution at up to 120fps on an LCD screen with HDR capabilities. When docked, the console can deliver stunning visuals with up to 4K resolution and HDR.The new Joy-Con 2 controllers are connected via magnets and can be detached by pressing a release button on the back. The SL and SR buttons on the sides are larger, enhancing the horizontal gaming experience, and the left and right sticks have also been upsized. Additionally, this segment confirmed the addition of mouse control support within the Joy-Con controllers.
The handheld Nintendo Switch 2 is equipped with a built-in microphone featuring noise-canceling technology and 3D audio for compatible games. It also includes a more robust and adjustable stand than the original Switch, capable of various height settings. A top USB port allows for external camera connectivity and system charging in tabletop mode.
Lastly, the Nintendo Switch 2 comes with a generous 256GB of internal storage.
