Loot filters in Path of Exile 2 are invaluable tools, especially when the game's world starts showering you with items. They help streamline your looting process by reducing screen clutter and emphasizing the most crucial drops, making your gameplay more efficient and enjoyable.
Navigating item collection with a controller on consoles can be cumbersome, but fear not—loot filters are available for PlayStation and Xbox players just as they are for PC users. Setting them up on consoles might seem a bit tricky, so here's a concise guide to help you get started.
How to Link Path of Exile 2 and Console Accounts
To utilize loot filters on the console versions of Path of Exile 2, you must first link your console account to your Path of Exile account. Here's how to do it through the Path of Exile website:
- Log in to the Path of Exile website.
- Click on your account name in the upper-left corner of the webpage.
- Select "Manage Account" on the right side, beneath your profile name and avatar.
- Under "Secondary Login," click the Connect button for either Sony (PS) or Microsoft (Xbox).
After selecting the Connect button for your console, you will be asked to log in with your existing PlayStation or Xbox account. Follow the prompts, and your accounts will be successfully linked.
Finding and Using Loot Filters
Once your accounts are connected, return to your profile page on the website and click on the "Item Filters" button on the right side. Then, select the "Item Filter Ladder" hyperlink to open a new tab displaying the top loot filters for Path of Exile 2.
At the top of the filter list, you'll find a drop-down menu. Change this to "PoE 2." Browse through the filters, select the one you wish to use, and click the "Follow" button on its page. For new players, we suggest starting with NeverSink's semi-strict or regular filters for a balanced and streamlined experience.
After following a filter on the website, launch Path of Exile 2 and navigate to the Options menu. In the Game tab, you'll find the Item Filter option at the top. Your selected filter should appear in the drop-down menu. Choose it and click Save. Now, when items drop in the game, they'll be labeled, colored, or accompanied by sound effects according to the filter you've activated, enhancing your overall gaming experience.
