Pokémon Scarlet and Violet rank among the franchise's highest-selling titles.
According to Serebii.net webmaster Joe Merrick and reported by Eurogamer, these paired games have surpassed 25 million combined sales—the highest for any Pokémon release since the original Pokémon Red/Green/Blue, which sold 31.4 million copies upon its 1996 Game Boy debut.
With 26,790,000 units sold, Scarlet/Violet narrowly edges out Sword/Shield (26,720,000 copies) for second place.
Completing the top five are Gold/Silver (23.7 million) and Diamond/Pearl (16.7 million).
At launch, Scarlet/Violet received polarized reviews, earning some of the franchise's lowest scores due to reported technical glitches, performance limitations, and bugs.
