The new year in Pokémon GO has brought a wave of new Pokémon for trainers to catch. Following Fidough's arrival, Shroodle is the next Pokémon to join the roster, but unlike many previous additions, acquiring it isn't straightforward.
Shroodle's Pokémon GO Debut
The Poison-type Shroodle, debuts in Pokémon GO on January 15, 2025, as part of the Fashion Week: Taken Over event. Originally from Pokémon Scarlet & Violet, it's a relatively new addition to the Pokémon world. After the event concludes, Shroodle will remain obtainable.
Shiny Shroodle?
Unlike some recent releases, Shroodle will not be available in its Shiny form at launch. Its Shiny variant will likely appear in a future event, possibly one focused on Poison-type Pokémon or Team GO Rocket.
Catching Shroodle
Breaking from the typical wild spawn pattern, Shroodle is exclusively hatched from 12KM Eggs. This is currently the only method to obtain Shroodle in Pokémon GO. 12KM Eggs collected from January 15th, 12 AM local time onward, have a chance of hatching Shroodle. Its hatch rate is expected to be higher during the Fashion Week: Taken Over event, but it should remain in the 12KM egg pool afterward.
Obtaining 12KM Eggs
Given Shroodle's exclusive hatching method, obtaining 12KM Eggs is crucial. These rare eggs are obtained solely by defeating Team GO Rocket Leaders (Sierra, Arlo, Cliff) or Giovanni. The Taken Over event presents an ideal opportunity to stockpile 12KM Eggs, as Team GO Rocket activity increases, making Rocket Radars more readily available. However, you can battle GO Rocket Grunts to challenge the Leaders at any time, provided you have inventory space for an additional egg.
Acquiring Grafaiai
Grafaiai, Shroodle's evolution, also arrives on January 15th. It cannot be hatched or found in the wild; evolution is the only method. Evolving requires 50 Shroodle Candy, necessitating multiple Shroodle hatches or using one as your buddy Pokémon.
