He emphasized that this celebration is a heartfelt thank you to the dedicated players who have supported the franchise for 25 years.
The Return of The Sims 1 and The Sims 2
In a major announcement, players can now revisit the origins of their favorite life simulation game. The Sims 1 and The Sims 2, complete with all their DLC, are available for purchase on Steam and the EA store, individually or as a special Birthday Bundle. This is a significant event for longtime fans, as these titles have been unavailable for purchase for nearly a decade. EA has addressed compatibility issues, ensuring these classic games run smoothly on modern systems.
In-Game Festivities for The Sims 4 and The Sims FreePlay
The Sims 4 players can enjoy the "Blast From The Past" event, featuring iconic items from earlier games. Over four weeks, new retro-themed furniture, clothing, and décor will be released, including neon inflatable chairs, a three-tiered cake, a light-up dance floor, and even vintage wired phones.
The Sims FreePlay also joins the celebration with a Birthday Update, transporting players back to the early 2000s with new Live Events ("The One with the Coffee Shop" and "Reality Island"), a new velour tracksuit, 25 days of daily gifts, and a Social Town museum showcasing the Sims' history.
