How to Skip Cutscenes in Monster Hunter Wilds

Want to skip the cutscenes in Monster Hunter Rise? While Rise's story features surprisingly well-developed characters and an engaging narrative, some hunters just want to get straight to the action. If that's you, here's how to bypass those cinematic interludes.

Skipping Cutscenes in Monster Hunter Rise

If the cutscenes are dragging on, simply hold down the Y key on a keyboard, or the back button on your controller. Hold it for about a second. If you're using a less common control scheme, briefly press a few buttons during a cutscene; the required input will be displayed in the top-right corner of the screen.

You can also pause cutscenes if you want to ensure you don't miss anything important. Many Monster Hunter cutscenes in the past felt unnecessary, but Rise's cutscenes are mostly story-relevant. We only recommend skipping them on subsequent playthroughs.

Rewatching Cutscenes

For those who want to revisit the cinematics, you can rewatch them from the in-game menu. This lets you enjoy them at your leisure after completing the main story. While this might disrupt the narrative flow slightly, some monster introductions are visually stunning, perfect for screenshots.
