Mastering Spider-Man's Spider-Tracer in Marvel Rivals: A Comprehensive Guide

Whether you're a seasoned Spider-Man player or tackling a challenging Marvel Rivals match, understanding the Spider-Tracer mechanic is crucial for victory. This guide explains what a Spider-Tracer is and how to effectively utilize it.

What is a Spider-Tracer?

The Spider-Tracer move in Marvel Rivals. While Marvel Rivals doesn't explicitly detail the Spider-Tracer, it's essentially a marker left by Spider-Man after using his Web-Cluster ability (LT on console, Right Click on PC). Although the Web-Cluster itself inflicts minimal damage, the Spider-Tracer significantly enhances subsequent attacks. For Peter Parker mains, mastering this mechanic is key to success.

How to Use a Spider-Tracer

The Web-Cluster has a five-shot capacity, allowing for five simultaneous Spider-Tracers. Simply hit the Web-Cluster button to target an opponent. While the initial hit deals minor damage, the real impact comes next.

A Spider-Tracer dramatically boosts the effectiveness of Spider-Man's other moves:

  • Spider-Power (R2/Left Click): This punch delivers increased damage to a Spider-Tracer-marked enemy.
  • Get Over Here! (R1/E): Normally pulls in the target. With a Spider-Tracer, Spider-Man is pulled towards the marked enemy. This is useful for engaging enemies in your backline but requires awareness of surrounding opponents.
  • Amazing Combo (Square/X/F): Launches the enemy upward, dealing amplified damage if a Spider-Tracer is active.

Optimal Spider-Tracer Combos

Landing the Spider-Tracer is only half the battle. To maximize damage, utilize the Amazing Combo (dealing 110 damage with a Spider-Tracer) followed by a Spider-Power for a devastating finish.

While Get Over Here! with a Spider-Tracer can be risky if the enemy has support, Spider-Man's agility allows for quick escapes, minimizing potential drawbacks.

Conclusion

Understanding and utilizing the Spider-Tracer is fundamental to effective Spider-Man gameplay in Marvel Rivals. Mastering these techniques will significantly improve your chances of victory.

Marvel Rivals is available now on PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X|S.
