Following the release of Dynasty Warriors: Origins, Koei Tecmo launches another musou-style title, Warriors: Abyss, a fresh roguelite experience. Available today, this game features familiar faces from the Warriors franchise.
Unveiled during the PlayStation State of Play, Warriors: Abyss allows players to assemble a team of characters and battle hordes of enemies from an isometric perspective, reminiscent of Diablo and Hades. Gameplay footage showcased characters like Zhou Yu, Nobunaga Oda, and Sun Shang Xiang, battling demonic forces in a hellish setting.
According to the PlayStation Blog, players can recruit and add characters to their team, unlocking additional summoning abilities. Up to seven heroes can be deployed simultaneously, with a launch roster of 100 warriors.
Koei Tecmo plans to expand the character roster post-launch, beginning with characters from the Jin kingdom in Dynasty Warriors. Further additions are teased, hinting at the possibility of characters from outside the Warriors series.
Warriors: Abyss is currently available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam). A Nintendo Switch release is slated for February 13, 2025. A Dynasty Warriors Costume Set is available as an in-game purchase until March 14, 2025. For a comprehensive overview of the PlayStation State of Play announcements, refer to our recap.
