The Last Knight is a captivating side quest that adds a touch of excitement to the Rinascita region of Wuthering Waves. While it may not boast the epic scope of the main storyline or the expansive exploration quests, it offers a unique glimpse into the daily life beyond Ragunna City, complete with rewarding in-game bonuses.
Compared to more complex quests like "Where Wind Returns To Celestial Realms" in WuWa, The Last Knight is relatively straightforward and less time-consuming, making it an ideal choice for players looking for a quick yet enriching experience. Below is a comprehensive walkthrough to guide you through this intriguing side quest.
Starting The Last Knight Quest
To embark on The Last Knight quest, you must first complete Chapter 2 in its entirety, including the "What Yesterday Wept, Today Doth Sing" quest. We highly recommend completing the main storyline before delving into Rinascita, as many side quests, including this one, are locked until you finish Chapter 2 Act 3.
Once you've completed the necessary questline, make your way to Egla Town in Whisperwind Haven. Seek out Cosimo, who should be standing in front of the first house near the main road exiting the town. He will be marked by a blue quest marker on your map, making him easy to find.
The Night Reveries
The Night Reveries celebrate the legendary knight who defeated a giant in Whisperwind Haven through a special performance. As part of this quest, you'll need to participate by confronting the Mad Knight, among other tasks.
The Mad Knight appears exclusively at night. Fast forward the time to between 18:00 and 06:00 the next day, and head to the pool at the center of town. This enemy isn't particularly challenging, so unleash your full arsenal to defeat it swiftly.
The Last Knight: Mimic Chests
Following your victory over the Mad Knight, proceed to the tallest tower in town and glide towards Carlow, guided by your quest marker. You'll find him unconscious next to a large, purple flower. Interact with the flower to be transported to a different instance, where your challenge is to identify the mimic among several chests.
The first three supply chests are safe to open. However, in the subsequent set, only one chest is genuine, while the others are mimics. The correct chest to open is the second one in the middle-left section. Opening it will reward you with Astrites and other valuable items, but be prepared to fend off the attacking mimics afterward.
The Knight's Trail and The Strange Scent
After overcoming the effects of the purple flower, your quest continues to the second and third locations reportedly visited by the legendary Mad Knight. This segment involves following quest markers and engaging in conversations with NPCs.
Following your conversation with Mr. Millkeeper, Abby will notify you of a peculiar scent nearby. Follow the quest marker uphill to encounter a unique Chop Chop accompanied by an invulnerable Leftless and Rightless. For this battle, we suggest equipping a Questless Knight Echo in your main Echo slot, as it enables you to parry the Chop Chop's attacks and stun it instantly.
Upon defeating the Chop Chop, Mr. Millkeeper will reveal that the legendary knight of Whisperwind Haven was a myth. Instead, it was he and other Windmill Keepers who protected the town as faux knights. This revelation causes Carlow to flee in disbelief.
Find Carlow
Return to Egla Town during the day and locate Carlow in one of the town's plazas. You'll find him being taunted by two knights. Rather than succumbing to fear, Carlow vows to protect and challenges one of the knights to a duel, thereby letting go of his romanticized notion of the Mad Knight and embracing the true essence of being a guardian.
The quest concludes with Carlow's duel challenge, marking the end of The Last Knight. Upon completion, you'll be rewarded with Union XP, Astrites, and various resources, and the quest will be checked off your list for the Tales of the Isles event.
