Conquering Thorncrown Rises: A Comprehensive Guide to the Shadow of the Past Quest in Wuthering Waves

This guide details the Shadow of the Past quest in Wuthering Waves, focusing on locating and completing each of the three towers within Thorncrown Rises. This quest is initiated by speaking with Botim, located south of the Rinascita-Ragunna-Thessaleo Fells northern Resonance Beacon. He explains the tower's infestation by shadowy monsters and offers rewards for their elimination.

Tower Locations:

Three towers comprise this quest:

• Shadow of the Towers: Resounding Rise: Located northeast of Thorncrown Rises.
• Shadow of the Towers: Twilight Rise: Located south of Thorncrown Rises.
• Shadow of the Towers: Command Rise: Located southwest of Thorncrown Rises.

Shadow of the Towers: Resounding Rise

Begin by interacting with Itzel, positioned east of the Resounding Rise Tower. The following steps outline the tower's traversal:

1. Enter the painting at the hallway's end.
2. Follow the quest marker to engage the Abyssal Mercator. Defeat it and collect the northern Basic Supply chest.
3. Obtain the western Supply chest.
4. Enter the second painting in the eastern room after acquiring the eastern Supply chest.
5. Engage and defeat the Abyssal Mercator again.
6. Continue north, pursuing and defeating the Abyssal Mercator.
7. Enter the painting behind the defeated Mercator.
8. Open the chest at the hallway's end to cease enemy fire.
9. Defeat the blocking enemy.

Painting Puzzle: Correctly arrange the paintings as follows:

1. Move the top-left painting to the bottom-right display.
2. Move the painting behind the top-left display to the bottom-left display.
3. Move the top-right painting to the top-left display.
4. Move the painting behind the bottom-right display to the top-right display.
5. Collect the Premium Supply chest.

Finally, engage the Abyssal Mercator one last time, speak with Itzel, and collect the Tidal Supply chest. Completing this weakens one Command Rise Tower barrier.

Shadow of the Towers: Twilight Rise

Proceed southeast to the Twilight Rise Tower and speak with Insula to enter. Follow the quest marker until the time loop is revealed. Then:

1. Investigate the three marked locations.
2. Speak with Insula.
3. Enter the secret passage under the elevator.
4. Defeat the Abyssal Patricius.
5. Collect the Supply chest and continue following the Patricius.
6. Defeat the Patricius a final time.
7. Speak with Insula again.
8. Collect the Tidal Supply chest.

This completes the Twilight Rise quest, weakening the second Command Rise Tower barrier.

Shadow of the Towers: Command Rise

This sub-quest activates automatically after completing the previous two.

1. Speak with Insula and Itzel at the camp northeast of the Command Rise Tower.
2. Use the Wingray to fly towards the tower.
3. Enter the Command Rise Tower.
4. Follow the quest marker deeper into the tower.
5. Collect the Supply chest west of the moving libraries.
6. Use the Grapple to ascend.
7. Collect the Basic Supply chest and defeat enemies for another Supply chest.
8. Engage the Abyssal Patricius at the quest marker.
9. Collect the chest and continue ascending using the Grapple.

Utilize the Grapple to maneuver the libraries, reaching higher ground and collecting numerous Supply chests. Two Sonance Caskets: Ragunna are also located within. Use the chandelier mechanism to reach the top, where you'll find Liel deceased. Speak with Insula and Itzel, then use the portal to confront the Abyssal Patricius. Defeat it to obtain the Call of the Abyss Rectifier and a Premium Supply chest.

Exiting via the portal and speaking with Insula and Itzel awards the King of Thessaleo and Shadow of the Tower achievements.
