Xbox Developer Direct 2025: January 23rd Showcase Announced

Microsoft has unveiled the date for its next Xbox Developer Direct: January 23rd, 2025. This marks the third annual event, kicking off the year's Xbox game reveals. Following the successful 2023 and 2024 iterations, this showcase promises another exciting lineup.

The event, scheduled for 10am PT / 1pm ET / 6pm GMT, will air on YouTube and Twitch. While rumors circulated earlier in January, the official announcement confirms the date and reveals some key titles.

Confirmed Games:

The Developer Direct will feature in-depth looks at:

  • Clair Obscur: Expedition 33: A turn-based RPG from Sandfall Interactive, slated for a 2025 release and confirmed as a day-one Xbox Game Pass title.
  • Doom: The Dark Ages: id Software's latest entry in the Doom franchise, initially announced in June 2024 and showcased at QuakeCon 2024. A mid-2025 launch is currently speculated.
  • South of Midnight: A stylish action-adventure game from Compulsion Games (Contrast, We Happy Few), initially revealed in June 2023. A release date is anticipated.

Beyond the Confirmed Titles:

Previous Developer Directs have lasted over 40 minutes and showcased multiple games. Given this precedent, the 2025 event likely holds further surprises beyond these three confirmed titles. Expect more announcements and updates to other projects.
