Zenless Zone Zero Tier List: December 24, 2024

HoYoverse's Zenless Zone Zero (ZZZ) boasts a diverse cast of characters, each with unique mechanics and synergy potential. This tier list ranks all ZZZ 1.0 characters as of December 24, 2024, reflecting the current meta. Note that tier lists are dynamic and subject to change with new content and balance updates. For example, while Grace was initially a top performer, the addition of powerful Anomaly units has diminished her relevance.

Updated on December 24, 2024, by Nahda Nabiilah: This tier list has been updated to reflect the current character lineup and meta shifts.

S-Tier

S-Tier Characters S-Tier Agents consistently excel in their roles and synergize effectively with others.

  • Miyabi: Exceptional Frost damage dealer, capable of devastating battlefield performance with strategic play. Requires specific build optimization.
  • Jane Doe: Superior to Piper, boasting significantly higher Assault Anomaly Crit damage. While Anomaly units are generally slower, her potent Assault potential earns her an S-rank alongside Zhu Yuan and Ellen.
  • Yanagi: Excels at triggering Disorder, activating the effect without needing additional Shock application. Ideal teammate for Miyabi.
  • Zhu Yuan: High-damage DPS with swift Shotshell attacks. Works well with Stun and Support characters; particularly effective with Qingyi and Nicole in version 1.1.
  • Caesar: Exceptional defensive Agent with powerful buffs, debuffs, and crowd control. Scales with Impact, enabling easy enemy stuns.
  • Qingyi: Universal Stunner, rapidly building Daze with Basic Attacks and applying significant DMG multipliers to stunned enemies. While excellent, she doesn't surpass Lycaon in Ellen teams due to the latter's Ice-specific effects.
  • Lighter: Stun Agent with substantial buffs, synergizing effectively with Fire and Ice characters.
  • Lycaon: Ice-type Stunner, utilizing charged attacks to apply Ice and Daze. Crucially reduces enemy Ice resistance and boosts ally Daze DMG. Essential for Ice teams.
  • Ellen: Ice-element Attack Agent, synergizing exceptionally with Lycaon and Soukaku. Deals massive damage, particularly with EX Special Attacks and Ultimates.
  • Harumasa: (Free at one point) Electric-Attack character; powerful but requires specific build preparation.
  • Soukaku: Support Agent; buffs Ice units and applies Ice Anomaly. Excellent synergy with Ellen and Lycaon.
  • Rina: Support Agent dealing significant damage and granting PEN (defense ignore), synergizing well with Electric characters.

A-Tier

A-Tier Characters A-Tier Agents are strong in specific team compositions, excelling in their roles but not as consistently as S-Tier.

  • Nicole: Ether Support, pulling enemies into energy fields and significantly reducing enemy DEF while increasing team Ether DMG. Less effective with non-Ether DPS units.
  • Seth: Shielder and Support, less effective than top-tier buffers like Soukaku and Caesar, particularly due to his niche application with Anomaly DPS.
  • Lucy: Support unit dealing off-field DMG and providing ATK% buffs. Synergy with other characters enhances her DPS.
  • Piper: Relies heavily on her EX Special Attack for damage, but it's exceptionally powerful, synergizing well with other Anomaly units.
  • Grace: Anomaly builder, applying Shock and triggering continuous DMG. Still relevant, but less impactful due to the release of other strong Anomaly Agents.
  • Koleda: Reliable Fire/Stun character, working well in teams with other Fire units; particularly synergistic with Ben.
  • Anby: Reliable Stunner with quick combos and bullet deflection; easily interrupted compared to other Stunners.
  • Soldier 11: High-damage Fire-infused Attack character with straightforward mechanics.

B-Tier

B-Tier Characters B-Tier Agents offer some utility, but other characters perform their roles better.

  • Ben: Defensive character with parry and punish mechanics, providing a Crit Rate buff and shield; slow and less impactful than other options.
  • Nekomata: AoE Attack unit, heavily reliant on team composition for optimal performance; potential for improvement with future updates.

C-Tier

C-Tier Characters C-Tier Agents currently offer limited value.

  • Corin: Physical Attack character, dealing high damage to stunned enemies but outperformed by Nekomata and Piper.
  • Billy: Attack character with high damage potential but inconsistent performance.
  • Anton: Electric Attack character with interesting Core Skill but low DPS and single-target focus.

This tier list provides a general assessment; individual performance can vary based on team composition, build, and player skill.
