This player supports UPnP DLNA and can operate as a Digital Media Renderer (DMR). File access is managed by users via the Storage Access Framework (SAF).
It features full support for SSA/ASS subtitles. Users can add and manage their own font files. Subtitles can be dimmed to accommodate the higher contrast and brightness of HDR and Dolby Vision playback. Font size is adjustable.
Support for SUP (Blu-ray) and VobSub (DVD) subtitle formats is also included (starting from version 5.1). All subtitles can be embedded in MKV or loaded externally. Users can select a single subtitle file or apply a package in Zip/7Z/RAR format during playback.
The player supports HDR/DV content, digital audio passthrough, MKV chapter navigation, frame-by-frame stepping, audio track selection and delay, and subtitle selection and time offset. It also displays frame rate and can automatically adjust the refresh rate.
Dolby Vision playback on NVidia Shield TV 2019 is successful. Videos can be rotated on demand and zoomed to full screen via pinch gestures.
It was originally designed for playing segmented files. These are presented in the m3u8 (HLS media list) format, which initially supported only TS files but now also accommodates mp4 or flv files.
