This app merges highly precise local weather forecasts with an engaging 3D map that visualizes broader weather patterns. This lets you see where precipitation is heading or the direction of approaching winds. What sets the app apart is the sheer volume of data it presents. Worldwide forecasts for weather, precipitation, wind, cloud cover, atmospheric pressure, snow depth, and other meteorological data at various altitudes are all available. Best of all, the app is entirely ad-free.
WIND ANIMATION
The Ventusky app presents weather in a fascinating way. Wind is visualized with streamlines that clearly show the fluid, ongoing evolution of weather systems. Earth's air is constantly in motion, and these streamlines capture that dynamism beautifully, making the connections between all atmospheric events clear.
WEATHER FORECAST
The app provides a weather forecast in one-hour intervals for the first three days, and in three-hour steps for subsequent days. You can also check sunrise and sunset times for any location.
WEATHER MODELS
The Ventusky app delivers data straight from the numerical models that were, until recently, exclusive to meteorologists. It aggregates data from the most accurate models available. Beyond the popular American GFS and HRRR models, it also features data from the Canadian GEM model and the German ICON model, which is unique for its high global resolution. Two additional models, EURAD and USRAD, rely on live radar and satellite data to show current precipitation with precision across the US and Europe.
WEATHER FRONTS
You can also display weather fronts. We developed a neural network that predicts the positions of cold, warm, occluded, and stationary fronts using weather model data. This unique algorithm makes us the first in the world to offer a global fronts forecast to the public.
