Rocksteady Studios has officially launched Season 4 Episode 8, marking the final major content update for *Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League*. Available now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, this update concludes the game’s live-service journey. Following the January 14 patch, no further new content will be developed, though servers will remain active for continued online play.
Originally released in February 2024 to mixed reviews, *Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League* struggled to maintain player engagement due to its controversial live-service design. In a December 2024 announcement, Rocksteady confirmed that Season 4 Episode 8 would serve as the game’s closing chapter. Despite this, players can still enjoy both online and offline modes with friends or solo, thanks to the offline functionality introduced in the previous update.
The latest patch introduces *Episode 8: Balance*, featuring an all-new Infamy Set based on the DC Super-Villain Libra, powerful Notorious weapons, and the climactic Mayhem mission against Brainiac. Additional updates include reduced XP requirements for Squad Levels, along with numerous bug fixes and gameplay enhancements aimed at improving overall performance and stability.
New Features in Season 4 Episode 8
Medieval Elseworld Expansion: Dive deeper into the reimagined medieval universe of *Elseworld*, exploring new areas such as The Quarry—a fortified citadel standing between you and Brainiac—and The Arena, perfect for epic jousts or interdimensional battles. Statues of King Jor-El and Queen Lara Lor-Van add a majestic touch to this chivalric setting.
Libra Infamy Set: Inspired by the villainous Libra, this set revolves around the concept of balance. Each stack of *Scales of Libra* increases both damage dealt and received by enemies by 50%, making it a high-risk, high-reward option ideal for aggressive players who thrive in chaotic combat scenarios.
New Notorious Weapons:
- The Silencer’s Complete Silence: This weapon synergizes perfectly with the Scales of Libra, delivering 200% bonus damage to affected enemies. Its alt-fire ability deals 1,000% extra damage and creates a *Silencer Zone*, reducing enemy damage output by 100% within the area—ideal for crowd control.
- Doctor Sivana’s Magic Bullets: A piercing weapon that electrifies enemies and applies stacks of *Scales of Libra*. Positioning is key—line up multiple targets for maximum devastation.
- Chronos’ Equilibrium: Designed for glass cannon builds, this weapon grants 25% bonus damage per missing percentage of your shield. Perfect for players who prefer staying in the thick of battle and playing aggressively.
Gameplay Changes & Quality-of-Life Improvements
The latest patch includes several gameplay adjustments intended to enhance player experience:
- Reduced duration of Deathstroke’s Suicide Strike to better align with other characters.
- Decreased Squad Level XP requirements, with retroactive rewards applied for previously earned XP. Players may notice level-ups post-patch and find additional Squad Points ready to spend.
