Conquer Baramos's Lair in Dragon Quest 3 Remake: A Comprehensive Guide

After securing the Six Orbs and hatching Ramia the Everbird, you're ready to challenge Baramos's Lair in Dragon Quest 3 Remake. This challenging dungeon serves as a crucial test before venturing into the underworld. This guide details navigating and conquering Baramos's Lair.

Baramos's Lair houses the Archfiend Baramos, the primary antagonist in the game's first half. Access is granted only after obtaining Ramia. Aim for a party level of at least 20 before attempting this encounter. The dungeon holds valuable items, detailed below.

Reaching Baramos's Lair

Having completed the Maw of the Necrogond and acquired the Silver Orb, you'll unlock Ramia. Fly from either the Shrine of the Everbird or the Necrogond Shrine to a mountainous island—Baramos's Lair's location. Ramia will transport you near the dungeon entrance.

Baramos's Lair Walkthrough

Baramos's Lair differs from typical dungeons; it's a network of indoor and outdoor areas. The objective is to reach Baramos. The main outdoor area, "Surroundings," is a central hub. We'll outline the main path to Baramos, then detail treasure locations.

Main Path to Baramos:

  1. Upon entering from the overworld, bypass the main entrance. Proceed east, towards the northeastern pool.
  2. Turn left at the stairs leading to the pool, heading west to another stair set. Ascend and locate the door to your right.
  3. Enter the Eastern Tower. Ascend to the top and exit.
  4. Navigate the castle roof southwest, then descend to the lower level. Proceed west, through gaps in the northwestern double wall, and use the northwestern stairs.
  5. This leads to the Central Tower. Use the Safe Passage spell to cross electrified floor panels, descending to B1 Passageway A (southwest stairs).
  6. In B1 Passageway A, turn east and proceed to the eastern stairs.
  7. Enter the South-East Tower. Head northeast to the stairs, ascend to the roof, then head west and descend again. Cross the grass northwest and enter the door.
  8. This leads to the northeast section of the Central Tower. Exit via the only available path.
  9. You'll be in B1 Passageway B. Proceed north and ascend the stairs.
  10. Enter the Throne Room. Navigate the floor panels to the southern exit.
  11. Return to the Surroundings map. The Throne Room is northwest; head east to the northeastern island structure—Baramos's Den, the boss arena.
