In a recent interview, Mizobe discussed the difficulties of bringing Palworld to the Switch, highlighting the game's demanding PC specifications. While discussions about new platforms are ongoing, no announcements are imminent.

Despite the challenges, Mizobe remains optimistic about expanding Palworld's reach. He previously acknowledged the significant performance gap between the PC and Switch versions, making a direct port technically demanding. Future platform availability for PlayStation, Nintendo, or mobile remains unconfirmed, though discussions are underway. Mizobe also confirmed that Pocketpair is open to partnerships and acquisitions, but hasn't engaged in buyout talks with Microsoft.

Aiming for Enhanced Multiplayer: Ark and Rust Inspiration

Mizobe's vision extends beyond platform considerations to enhancing Palworld's multiplayer experience. The upcoming arena mode, described as an experiment, will pave the way for more robust multiplayer features. His goal is to implement a full-fledged PvP mode, drawing inspiration from the intricate social and competitive dynamics of games like Ark and Rust.

Ark and Rust are known for their challenging environments, deep resource management, and extensive player interactions, including alliances and conflict. Both games successfully blend PvE and PvP elements.

Since its launch, Palworld, Pocketpair's creature-collecting survival shooter, has seen remarkable success, selling 15 million copies on PC in its first month and attracting 10 million players on Xbox Game Pass. A major update, including the free Sakurajima update launching Thursday, will introduce a new island, the highly anticipated PvP arena, and more.
