The Heart System
Access your relationship status with each NPC via the in-game menu's heart tab. This shows friendship levels (hearts), but doesn't fully explain point accumulation.
Friendship Points: The Fine Print
Each heart requires 250 friendship points. Interactions—talking, gifting—all impact this score. Positive actions earn points; neglect or negative actions decrease them.
Boosting Friendship Gains
The "Friendship 101" book provides a permanent 10% boost to friendship point gains. It's available as a Prize Machine reward (ninth prize) or from the Bookseller (Year 3, 9% chance). The cost is 20,000g. Note: This bonus only affects point increases, not decreases.
Point Values: Interactions
Daily Interactions:
- Talking: +20 (or +10 if the NPC is busy). Skipping daily conversation results in a -2 point penalty (-10 if you've given a bouquet, -20 for your spouse).
- Bulletin Board Deliveries: +150 points with the recipient.
Gift Giving:
- Loved: +80 points
- Liked: +45 points
- Neutral: +20 points

- Hated: -40 points
Birthday and Feast of the Winter Star gifts multiply these values (x8 and x5 respectively). Choose wisely!

Movie Nights: A Cinematic Approach
Invite NPCs to the movie theater using a 
Movie Ticket (1000g). Movie and concession choices affect points:
- Loved Movie: +200 points

Dialogue and Heart Events

- Flower Dance: Dancing with an NPC (4+ hearts) grants +250 points.
