Cinematic Horror Puzzler

In a world brimming with video games, finding a truly unique title can be a challenge. My Father Lied, however, stands out with its captivating narrative and intriguing blend of mystery and Lovecraftian elements. This puzzle adventure game boasts a compelling story, making it a standout experience.

My Father Lied: An Indie Developer's Journey

The game's creation story is fascinating. Ahmed Alameen, the developer, wasn't originally a game designer. In 2020, he was establishing himself as a writer and filmmaker. A collaborative game project with a college friend ultimately fell through, but the core story remained. Alameen, driven by his vision, taught himself 3D modeling and Unreal Engine, embarking on a solo development journey. Even the game's title was a collaborative effort with his wife.

Unraveling the Game's Narrative

The game plunges players into a mystery steeped in ancient Mesopotamian mythology, filled with secrets, puzzles, and unexpected twists. Players assume the role of Huda, a young woman grappling with a twenty-year-old question: what happened to her father? The answer, as the story unfolds, proves far from straightforward.

My Father Lied masterfully blends ancient Mesopotamian tales with modern storytelling. The gameplay features simple point-and-click mechanics, avoiding complex controls, and showcases beautiful 2D visuals and immersive 360-degree images.
