Assess your WiFi network's security. Could there be unauthorized users? WPS protocol analysis.
WPSApp evaluates your network's security using the WPS protocol.
This protocol permits connection to a WiFi network with an 8-digit PIN, often preset in the router. The issue is that PINs for many routers from various manufacturers are either publicly known or can be calculated.
This application uses these known PINs to attempt connection and identify network vulnerabilities. It incorporates multiple recognized PIN generation algorithms and common default PINs. Additionally, it calculates default keys for some routers, allows viewing of WiFi passwords saved on your device, scans for devices on your network, and analyzes WiFi channel quality.
Usage is straightforward. When scanning nearby networks, networks with a red cross are considered "secure"—they have WPS disabled and their default password is unknown.
Networks with a question mark have WPS enabled, but the PIN is unknown. In this case, the app lets you test the most common PINs.
Finally, networks with a green tick are likely vulnerable: WPS is enabled and the connection PIN is known. A network may also appear green if WPS is disabled but the password is known; you can then connect using that key.
Root access is required only for viewing passwords, connecting on Android 9/10, and for some extra functions.
NOTE: Not all networks are vulnerable. A network appearing as vulnerable does not guarantee 100% susceptibility, as many manufacturers have updated router firmware to fix this flaw.
TEST YOUR OWN NETWORK. IF YOU ARE VULNERABLE, TAKE ACTION: Disable WPS and change to a strong, custom password.
I AM NOT LIABLE FOR ANY MISUSE. UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS TO NETWORKS IS ILLEGAL.
From Android 6 (Marshmallow) onwards, location permissions are required due to a new Google requirement. More information: https://developer.android.com/about/versions/marshmallow/android-6.0-changes.html#behavior-hardware-id
Some Samsung models use encryption and display a long string of hexadecimal digits instead of the real passwords. Search online or contact me if you need help decrypting them.
PIN connection does not work on LG models running Android 7 (Nougat) due to an issue with LG's software.
Please understand how the app functions before leaving a review.
