RAID Shadow Legends What Is Pity System and Does It Really Help?

Author : Aaron May 13,2025

If you're a fan of RAID: Shadow Legends, you're likely familiar with the thrill and frustration of summoning champions using the game's RNG-based system. It's no secret that pulling shards can be a rollercoaster ride, particularly when you're hoping to land one of those elusive Legendary champions. To ease the sting of those dry spells, Plarium introduced the "Pity System." But what exactly is this system, and does it truly benefit free-to-play (F2P) and low-spender players? Let's dive into the details and find out.

What Is the Pity System in RAID: Shadow Legends?

The Pity System is a hidden mechanic designed to boost your chances of summoning higher rarity champions, specifically Epics and Legendaries, the longer you go without pulling one. Essentially, if you experience an extended streak of bad luck, the game adjusts your odds upward until you finally secure a desirable champion. This system aims to mitigate the risk of prolonged "dry streaks," where players might go through dozens or even hundreds of shards without success. While Plarium keeps this mechanic under wraps within the game itself, it has been verified through data mining, developer insights, and numerous player testimonies.

RAID: Shadow Legends Pity System Guide

Sacred Shards

  • Base Legendary chance: 6% per pull.
  • Mercy kicks in: After 12 pulls without a Legendary.
  • After your 12th Sacred pull with no Legendary, each additional pull increases your Legendary odds by 2%.

The progression works like this:

  • 13th pull = 8% chance
  • 14th pull = 10% chance
  • 15th pull = 12% chance

Is the Pity System Helpful for the Average Player?

The effectiveness of the Pity System isn't a straightforward yes or no. While it's designed to help, many players have noted that the system often kicks in too late to make a significant difference. By the time players reach the point where the Pity System boosts their odds, they may have already pulled a Legendary champion through sheer luck. This raises the question of whether the system could be improved to better serve players, especially those who play for free or spend minimally.

For F2P players, the grind to accumulate shards can be particularly disheartening without landing a Legendary champion. The Pity System is a crucial feature for a gacha game like RAID: Shadow Legends, but there's room for enhancement. For instance, reducing the number of pulls required to trigger the Pity System from 200 to 150 or 170 could make a substantial difference. Such a change would not only help players save more shards but also make the system feel more like a true "pity."

To elevate your RAID: Shadow Legends experience, consider playing on a bigger screen using your PC or laptop with a keyboard and mouse through BlueStacks. This setup can enhance your gameplay and make those summoning sessions even more enjoyable.
