"Monster Hunter Wilds: Unique Designs for Every Weapon - IGN First"

Monster Hunter fans have long expressed their dissatisfaction with the weapon designs in Monster Hunter: World, sparking curiosity about whether Monster Hunter Wilds would address these concerns. While we've only seen a few weapons from Wilds so far, it hasn't been enough to form a comprehensive opinion on the overall design philosophy. However, Director Yuya Tokuda has provided clarity on this matter.

Discussing the Hope series armor and weapons, Tokuda stated, "Incidentally, weapon designs in Monster Hunter: World generally retained a certain form, but they featured a customized appearance based on which monster materials were used. However, in Wilds, each weapon has its own unique design."

This statement directly addresses the concerns about weapon designs from Monster Hunter: World. In Wilds, players can expect distinct and unique weapon designs, eliminating the issue of weapons looking too similar to each other. In Monster Hunter: World, even though some weapons evolved into unique forms, many did not. For instance, the final aqua line Sword and Shield bore a striking resemblance to the final Pukei-Pukei Sword and Shield, and the final bone line Long Sword was very similar to the final Jyuratodus Long Sword. These were the most upgraded versions available at the launch of Monster Hunter: World.

In contrast, the weapon designs showcased so far in Monster Hunter Wilds are undoubtedly unique, as you can see in the slideshow below:
