Freedom Wars Remastered: Enhanced Gameplay and New Features Revealed

A new trailer for Freedom Wars Remastered showcases the game's revamped gameplay and control systems, offering a fresh look at this dystopian action RPG. The core loop remains familiar: battle colossal mechanical creatures (Abductors), harvest materials, upgrade equipment, and complete challenging missions. However, this remastered edition boasts significant enhancements.

The game, launching January 10th on PS4, PS5, Switch, and PC, features dramatically improved graphics. Expect stunning 4K resolution (2160p) at 60 FPS on PS5 and PC, while PS4 players will enjoy 1080p at 60 FPS, and Switch players will experience 1080p at 30 FPS.

Beyond visual upgrades, Freedom Wars Remastered introduces faster-paced gameplay through enhanced movement speed and new attack cancellation mechanics. The crafting and upgrade systems have been completely overhauled, featuring intuitive interfaces and the ability to freely attach and detach modules. A new module synthesis feature allows players to upgrade their gear using resources obtained by rescuing citizens.

For seasoned players, a new "Deadly Sinner" difficulty mode provides an intense challenge. Furthermore, all customization DLC from the original PS Vita release is included from the outset.

The trailer opens with the protagonist, a Sinner condemned for the crime of being born, navigating a resource-depleted world. Missions, undertaken to benefit their Panopticon (city-state), range from rescuing civilians and eliminating Abductors to capturing crucial control systems. Players can tackle these challenges solo or with online co-op partners. The gameplay, while set in a futuristic world, maintains a similar loop to the Monster Hunter series, a point of inspiration for the game's development after Capcom shifted its focus to Nintendo consoles.
