Marvel Rivals Addresses Low FPS Damage Issue
Several Marvel Rivals heroes, including Dr. Strange and Wolverine, are experiencing reduced damage output at lower FPS settings. This 30 FPS bug impacts damage calculations, affecting gameplay significantly. Developers have acknowledged the problem and are actively working on a solution.
The issue, impacting heroes like Dr. Strange, Magik, Star-Lord, Venom, and Wolverine, disproportionately affects damage at lower frame rates (30 FPS) compared to higher settings (60 or 120 FPS). Community reports highlight this discrepancy, particularly noticeable when attacking stationary targets. The problem stems from the game's client-side prediction mechanism, a common programming technique to mitigate lag.
While a precise fix date remains unannounced, a community manager confirmed the issue and assured players that the upcoming Season 1 update (January 11th) will address the problem, at least partially. Wolverine's Feral Leap and Savage Claw abilities are specifically mentioned as affected. If the Season 1 patch doesn't fully resolve the issue, a subsequent update is planned.
Despite early concerns about hero balance, Marvel Rivals, launched in early December 2025, boasts an 80% player approval rating on Steam (over 132,000 reviews), demonstrating its overall popularity. The ongoing efforts to rectify the FPS-related damage bug further underscore the developers' commitment to player satisfaction.
